Just the second paragraph was already pretty helpful, but inputting the equation there was equally good. I couldn’t get much of the rest though, but I’m satisfied for now in understanding why the Euler Number is used in many things.

According to Wikipedia the last measurement was c = 299792456.2±1.1 m/s by a group at the US National Bureau of Standards in Boulder, Colorado in 1972. Shortly after it was agreed to define as 299792458 m/s.
